#SmallBiz Recruiting On A Budget: Steps 1 – 3

atsod

Small businesses across all industries are always looking for ways to grow and succeed without breaking the bank. Any smart business owner knows that without a happy and passionate team managing the ship, the path to success can be costly and hard to achieve. Finding loyal employees can be one of the most challenging tasks a team can experience – and can also be the most fulfilling! Don’t worry about recruitment becoming a financial strain when you can have an innovative Applicant Tracking System (ATS) solution that will solve all pain points while aligning with business goals and budget.  Here are three ways ATS OnDemand’s (ATSOD) applicant tracking solution will help your #SmallBiz recruit on a budget:

Step 1 – Get noticed

Businesses looking to get noticed and increase candidate traffic to open opportunities will need to share them on third-party job sites like Indeed and LinkedIn. Posting jobs to job boards can cost money – and the more money you dish out – the more attention you will get on that posting. ATS OnDemand’s applicant tracking system comes standard with free job postings to Indeed, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and US jobs with a simple and quick integration process. You can also post job links and/or your career page to websites that do not integrate with applicant tracking software (i.e. Craiglist or college job boards) by using the shortened URL link tool. ATS OnDemand also comes standard with a Social Post feature that syncs business and personal Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn social media accounts to the ATS so you can share opportunities instantly.

Step 2 – Make it easy to apply

Once you have the attention of an interested job candidate, you want to make sure the apply process is seamless. 1 in 5 job seekers report they’d quit an application if the process takes longer than 20 minutes.  Hiring millennials?  1 in 10 said they wouldn’t even consider applying to a company if they lacked a mobile-responsive application.  Ensuring career pages and applications are mobile friendly, user-friendly, and straightforward will encourage candidates to apply and reflect well on your company and customer service. ATSOD requires new candidates to create an account with an email address and password. This ensures candidate profiles are secured and avoids duplicate candidate entries. Candidates can then apply to multiple jobs easily and access their application at a later date to update information and resubmit changes.

Step 3 – Communicate with candidates

Communication is key to maintaining a positive employer brand, especially if you are a rising company in your industry.  66% of candidates said they’d wait a maximum 2 weeks to hear from a company before moving on.  You don’t want to miss out on quality talent because you never reached out!  Whether you are rejecting a candidate or simply letting them know their application was submitted, sending emails to follow up is not only easy to do, but can be completely automated within an ATS. ATSOD’s recruit flow manager will send email letters automatically to a large number of candidates based on where they reside in the review process. For new candidates, send them a “thank you” message and let them know they are being reviewed and to expect a follow up. For rejected candidates, say “thanks, but no thanks,” and let them know they have the opportunity to be considered in the future.  Letters are fully managed and controlled by system users and can be sent manually as well.
